News indeed from the Reddest of Red States
If Barack Obama was talking about Bitterness the other day, and he surely was, then the remarks would be expected to hit home very hard in Oklahoma.
Guns and Religion being high up on the list of priorities here. Only recently, the response to the latest round of College Campus shootings has been met with very loud calls to allow even more guns on Campus. I may be stoopid here, but surely fewer guns leads to fewer gun crimes, not more.
I can accept being stoopid, but colour me very surprised indeed at the news today.
Brad Henry, Governor of this fine State, and a Super Delegate, just endorsed Barack Obama.
In response, one of the local Democrat leaders expressed surprise, and suggested that maybe Governor Henry might have considered voting with the will of the Democrats in OK and supporting Clinton.
This is in itself interesting. He seemed to be trying to suggest that because Hillary won the OK Primary, then she should get ALL the Super Delegate votes from this State. He added that he himself was waiting to see if candidates made any mistakes before making up his mind.
Odd that, surely he should be considering which candidate has the better proposals for taking the country forward; but I'm and idealist :)
Meanwhile .... I have been less than enamoured with Governor Henry, a time or two. Today he gets a hat tip from this ex-Pat Limey.
Go Brad !!!
